ROLE
I worked as part of the Level Design team on DiRT 4. One of my main responsibilities was creating and iterating track sections created for the innovative “Your Stage” feature using in-house engine tools.

ROLE
This was my first job working with the Level Design team on a AAA title. My main task was managing and adding to an extensive replay camera system across multiple tracks, this was achieved using in game tools to place cameras in realistic locations on track to accurately mimic real life television broadcast cameras. Trigger zones were then placed and visual scripting was used to trigger the right cameras at the right times.

GET A GRIP

DESCRIPTION
Get A Grip is a 3D endless free-climber for iOS, Android and Windows Phone made with Unity. A raging fire is spreading through the jungle putting local wildlife in danger. With all directions set ablaze by a fiery inferno, rescue the lovable but exceptionally inflammable baby panda and take the only route out; up the endless jungle tree! Using your thumbs to control the ragdoll climber’s hands you can swipe, swing and fling your way to safety.

ROLE
Working within a team of 4 we created indie title Get A Grip with part funding from Microsoft.

DESCRIPTION
Pub Crawl Brawl is a 3D side scrolling beat-em-up that took inspiration from the classic SEGA Genesis game Streets of Rage. We also created a bespoke mobile app for Android and iOS allowing players to jump into the game using their phone as the controller. This enabled us to support up to 20 player local co-op for true mayhem!

ROLE
Working within a team of 5 for a final year University Project. I created levels, character archetypes and handled AI spawning and difficulty.

DESCRIPTION
The Shark Assault Course is a CryEngine 2 map full of awesome platforming and interesting puzzles. The player must navigate across perilous obstacles to avoid falling in the water. If they fall in they get eaten by a shark!
Yan’s Island is an adventure map, you must help Yan to rid a beautiful tropical island from a Korean hostile takeover so he can get back to fishing in peace, as the level progresses it becomes clear that the island has some mysterious secrets to research.

IN SUMMARY
Created 2 levels in the CryEngine 2 Sandbox Editor and released them on a mapping community forum.

  • Building Yan’s Island and Shark Assault Course maps.
  • Gathering feedback from community playtesting.
  • Learning CryEngine 2 toolset.
  • Importing custom audio and textures.
